- Sand, unlike Powder, does not burn when in contact with Fire.
- Sand slowly turns into Lava when in contact with Lava.
- Sand reacts with Seed to form Wood. The wood produced tends to grow straight and branches in 45° and 135° which is different than those produced from Powder and Seed.
- Sand combines with Water and turns into Mud.
- Sand moves one dot in a direction perpendicular to the gravitational force if the dot directly in the direction of the force is occupied and one of the two dots adjacent to the occupied dot is not occupied. This results in phenomena like Sand tends to form mountains.
